The Avid Pad Spreader can provide the optimum clearance between Avid | SRAM Elixir brakes are manufactured. If the bike is transported with removed wheels, the pad spreader can also be used as a transport lock to prevent accidental compression of the brake pads. When venting, the thicker side of the pad spreader serves as a bleed block, which keeps the brake pistons of Elixir brakes at a perfect distance when the brake pads are removed. Practical gimmick: For extended screwdriver sessions, a bottle opener is integrated in the pad spreader.
